After our pre-show interviews only 5 of us (our of maybe 24?) were selected to be guests on I miss that person. They sat here. Determining characteristics were based on how much information people had. One woman was adopted when she was 11, another was 9. They had lots of memories of what their life was like here, and how they came to be adopted. The drama was high; one adoptee was adopted with her biological brother and her brother had died years ago. She expressed the wish that her brother could be here with her now.
My short interview was one of the many others that appeared all in a row in the middle of the program. It had me telling my English name and my Korean name and the circumstances of my adoption.

The hosts stood behind this platform here.

We sat up here, not quite in the audience, but not one of the main guests.

Here’s the audience; ajoomas in easter egg colored clothes. They oooh-ed and aw-ed and gasped at all the appropriate times.

The hosts, in the fancy clothes

The female host. Everyone thinks she is very beautiful.
Update: One adoptee found her birth family through this show. Her cousin and aunt phoned into the show and she was reunited with her birth mother and tons of family afterwards. She said it was amazing.
Another adoptee who met her family told us her mother (or grandmother?) told us she watched the show every Wednesday looking for her.
At first I was a little jealous of the adoptees who were meeting their family, but now I am just happy for them.
Note, you can only see the show if you can read Korean (website is in Korean) and have a login. GOAL is trying to get it onto youtube. I’ll let you know when they do.
